It's Week 949!
This week we got to launch a client project that we've been working on for a full year - Knock Home Visiting.
The Home Visiting field has a workforce problem - it's a growing field that needs new professionals. The median home visitor is a college-educated social worker with a Master's degree, but the actual work of home visiting is a job suitable for people with all kinds of backgrounds. There are folks with valuable lived experience who would make great home visitors - but aren't making the jump to this kind of work.
So Knock is an attempt to help new people explore a career in Home Visiting. It was conceived and implemented by the folks at the Institute for the Advancement of Family Professionals, and it's centered around the idea of 'Relational Readiness.' You might not have an academic background, but you might have great skills in Empathy, Emotional Intelligence, Relationships, etc - and those are the foundation of home visiting work.
We'll write more about this project on the blog or in a case study, but for this week we're celebrating its launch!
