It's week 963!

We did a lot of new-year kickoff things this week, and some old-year closeout things.

A concept that popped up a few times was 'longevity'. Tech companies can be fast-moving creatures that burn bright and burn out quickly. That's not what we're aiming for at BNB. We've been doing this work for more than a decade and a half, and we're in it for the long haul. That's a part of why we number these weeknotes. We've been doing this for 963 weeks!

(Approximately. Please don't make me re-order these if I got it wrong.)

When we first started out, clients would sometimes ask us: 'You seems smart, but will you be around in a couple of years when we want to upgrade this thing?'. Now we can just point to our history. We don't often bounce the question back to them (will YOU?). But we could!

This week the team got a bunch done. We:

• Added new features to the event registration system of one app
• Solved a tricky feature request ('We forgot to tell you that we'll need to do x') with an elegant extension of a model we'd already designed and built
• Updated the design mockups of a rich new quizzing feature in another
• Worked on visual storytelling to communicate the intent of a brand new project
• Had year-end/year-beginning one-on-ones with everybody
• Helped set up some tricky tax capture settings in one international ecommerce project
• Started implementing the visual styling of a brand new app
• Upgraded the core Rails frameworks on another app (longevity!)

That was Week 963. Just imagine what we've gotten done with all the weeks before that.
